In the past, dental crowns took at least two appointments with our dentists to complete. During the first visit, we would take an impression of your tooth to get you fitted for a temporary crown. After that, we had to wait a week while your permanent crown was being created in the lab. During the waiting period, it was important to protect your temporary crown from any damage. This required needing to watch what foods you ate.

Luckily for us, we now utilize state-of-the-art dental technology with CAD/CAM (computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacturing)! This technology allows us to create and place a dental crown the same day, in just one single visit with you.

During your appointment to receive a same-day dental crown, our dentists will:

• Closely evaluate your teeth to ensure a crown will be most beneficial
• Remove the decayed portion of the tooth
• Capture digital images of your teeth and surrounding structures
• Convert those images into a 3D model
• Mill your crown from a block of tooth-colored material

After a few minutes, your crown will be ready to be placed in your mouth. Our dentists will make sure it fits correctly and comfortably then bond the crown into place and polish it to complete your treatment.
